Content planning for optimal user experience
How annoying is it when you look at a website and the content is not up-to-date. And why aren't Sunday shopping Sundays listed directly on the homepage? A good website user experience depends on showing specific content at the right time and in the right place.
There are a number of moments during the week or per year when it is predictable which content is wanted. With this in mind, we set to work to make it possible to schedule these moments.
How content planning works

As an editor, you know exactly what is going on right now. With a content calendar, you can also plan well ahead for upcoming special dates. Think of the well-known retail moments such as:
- Sinterklaas
- Christmas
- Easter
- Valentine's Day
In the land of city marketing, there are also special moments that can be anticipated in terms of content:
- Spring
- Summer holidays
- Skirt day
- Large events such as Glow or TT Assen
How nice it would be if you could prepare and schedule content for these special moments in advance...
Schedulable content in Plaece
From now on, this is possible with the new module "plaece.planner". The following pageparts have the possibility to plan content
- Carousel
- Content
- Content tile
- Content Grid
- Doorway Grid
- Toptask
- Story
Content can be scheduled through three patterns:
- One-off
- Daily
- Weekly (day of the week)
All patterns can be provided with a start and end time and a start and end date.

Example of schedulable content
Practical examples
- Every Sunday, a slide shows the current shopping Sundays and activities for a lazy Sunday
- The first day of summer shows a summer photo with a link to all summer activities
- During Glow festival, a link to the current programme is automatically displayed.
The slides/columns/tiles in the pagepart can be provided with content, as was always available before. Think of adding an image, title and a call-to-action button. The button in the slide can then link to a special landing page set up for that moment.
The landing page is completely free to be filled with content. Photos, images, events and locations tagged with the moment and much more!
