Manage in Base

| Pascal Vleugels | |

One of the new features in Base is the addition of extra service links and content pages. With these service links, it is possible to refer platform users to pages with information about the privacy statement or general terms and conditions or, for example, as a reference to a manual.

To comply with the stricter privacy legislation GDPR, it is necessary to make users aware of how personal data is handled. By offering a link to the General Terms and Conditions, users have more insight into the use of personal data.

How the service links work

In Base, the administrator can create new service links. A number of settings can be made per service link:

Service link type

For each link, you can specify whether the link should open an external page or whether a content page should be opened in Base. This content page can be filled and formatted in Base.

Where to display the service link

Per link, you can set where it should be displayed. Currently, the link can be shown at the following locations: menu, login page and registration page.

Soon, the new version of Base (version 3.0) will be rolled out for all partners. The first updates for customer installations are already behind us. Extensive testing is currently taking place to ensure that all functionalities work as they should.

What else is on our to-do list for GDPR compliance:

  1. Ask for agreement on conditions for using Base when registering a new account.
  2. Ask for agreement on conditions of use of Base when changing conditions.
  3. Save consent to conditions in Base (including date of consent).
  4. Submit request for removal of personal data in Base.
  5. Request agreement on conditions for use of personal data when registering new accounts for website visitors.
  6. Save consent to terms and conditions in the website's content management system.
  7. Request removal of personal data in the website's content management system.
  8. Processing agreements for both the content management system and Base.
  9. A suitable cookie notification for the content management system that complies with the AVG.
