Meet plaece

| | |

On 21 March, Insiders' office was all about plaece the meet up. During this event, the new plaece brand was launched. This is the replacement for the online ecosystem Citynavigator. The weeks leading up to the event saw a lot of hard work on the new corporate identity, website and brochures. This came together at the event during a day full of knowledge sharing and Brabant conviviality. In this blog, we give a recap of the day.

Short about plaece

Plaece, formerly known as Citynavigator, is a constantly evolving online platform designed specifically for destinations. It was developed by a dedicated team of independent engineers with the aim of making destination marketing effortless, efficient and manageable.

Every city, region, nature or heritage destination has its own characteristics, but the marketing challenges are often similar. By innovating together and making smart use of data, you can achieve much more with lower costs. The Destination Intelligence Platform can be fully customised for each destination. This allows destinations to focus completely on achieving results and driving strategy.

The new brand and its modules and features

The morning was all about getting to know the new brand and its approach, modules and features. The day started with Brabant sausage rolls and Bossche bollen. Servia and Pascal showed which existing modules are still on offer, but with a new look. Various new features were also presented. Here, the most notable development is content creation assistance with the plaece.base AI-assist. Currently, the AI-assist helps with writing SEO information such as Meta Descriptions and SEO Meta Titles. This writing assistance will soon be further expanded to include an ability to create new content and translate content.

In addition to the AI-assist in plaece.base, several features have also gained additional capabilities. For instance, plaece.embed can now easily load an Instagram post into a blog article or landing page. Plaece.routes has also had an update. A new icon has been developed that makes it immediately clear that the start point of the route is the same as the end point. And it is now also possible to see which routes are in the vicinity of a particular location. Some feature additions are included by default and others are covered by paid features. Are you curious about all the features. Then request a free demo.

Dialogues with all partners - round 1

Before lunch, dialogues were scheduled. Upon entering, each partner had the chance to choose one of the three dialogues. Ruben entered into a conversation with the partners about the needs and possibilities of routes. Simone started a dialogue on the Lifestyle Finder and Pascal on Data & Insights. From Simone's dialogue, a number of salient points emerged. For instance, all partners were familiar with the Lifestyle Finder and many attendees focus on one or a number of lifestyles. Those present are also open to further researching lifestyles among their own (website) visitors.

A wide range of suggestions have been put forward for follow-up research, for example on the food sector or media usage. Insiders will take these into account in its partnership with Leefstijlvinder.

Best practices: Inspiring modules from fellow DMOs

After a break and a tasty lunch of fresh soup, sandwiches and salad, it was time for the final parts of the day. The afternoon started positively with a nice display of best practices from fellow DMOs. These examples show how existing features are deployed in a smart way.

Eilandmarketing Goeree-Overflakkee used the plaece.deals feature to create a nice overview of the Eilandpas offerings. The Eilandpas is a discount card for Goeree-Overflakkee residents to promote the island's offerings.

But Visit Groningen also deployed the feature plaece.spinner in a playful way. With the CultureSpinner, you discover fun cultural outings in Groningen and are inspired to go off the beaten track.

The afternoon programme

In the afternoon, two more dialogues were scheduled. Ruben started the dialogue with partners on needs around conversion. During the AI dialogue with Pascal, all needs around AI and the built-in tool were asked. From this, great insights emerged, including the need for a tool that can help with translations. But Wendy from Visit Friesland also told us that writing in Frisian goes quite well with Chat GPT.

After the dialogues, it was already time for the final programme component. Here, we shared what our partners will expect from us in terms of events and communication. Smart tips, tricks and news will be shared in the newsletters. There will also be an online event with knowledge sharing on every1st Monday of the month, and three more meet-ups are planned this year on the themes of Heritage, Sustainable Tourism and Nature. Curious about all the events? Then keep an eye on the newsletters.

Of course, the day ended with convivial drinks with all partners. We hope our new brand plaece will achieve great results in the future. Do you have any questions? Then feel free to contact us and ask about the possibilities.
