Plaece.base is ready for GDPR
It will not have escaped anyone's attention, but at the end of May, the stricter privacy legislation GDPR comes into force. To comply with this regulation, plaece.base is being expanded with a number of new functionalities.
In a previous article, we already talked extensively about the ability to add general terms and conditions in Plaece.base. In this update, we are another step closer to complying with the updated privacy legislation GDPR.
We have added this in plaece.base:
- Request agreement on conditions for use of base when registering a new account.
- Request agreement on conditions for use of base when conditions change.
- Save consent to terms in base (including date of consent).
- Submit request for removal of personal data in base.
New users must agree to the terms and conditions upon registration

Example of registration form for new users
When a new account is created in plaece.base, the user must agree to the terms and conditions. If the conditions are not agreed to, the account cannot be created.
The user must give explicit permission.
If the conditions are changed, a user has to agree to the conditions again

Example of notification if re-approval is required
As administrator of plaece.base, you have the option to change the conditions. At that point, all previously given agreements are undone. Anyone logging into plaece.base will then see a notification. In this notification, the user is asked to (re)agree to the conditions. Without re-agreement, the user cannot use the system.
Consent is saved with user profile
In accordance with the new regulations, it records who has given permission for what, and when. For each user, you can see when they gave permission for the conditions.
Submit request for oblivion

Example of requesting oblivion
From now on, every user has the option to submit a "request to forget". In the user profile, each user will have the option to submit this request to the plaece.base administrator.
This is still on our to-do list:
- Request agreement on conditions for use of personal data when registering new accounts for website visitors.
- Save consent to terms and conditions in the website's content management system.
- Request removal of personal data in the website's content management system.
- Processing agreements for both the content management system and base.
- A suitable cookie notification for the content management system that complies with the AVG.
The new version of plaece.base (version 3.0) will soon be rolled out to all partners.
